The Impending Crisis

The Constitution, which was created as a device to make a country

great and unify its people so it can prosper and grow, ended up being a

contributing factor to the division of the country during the previous years

to the civil war. Its general and unclear guidlines lead to different

inturpretations and a country that began to grow apart on different ideas

and systems of economy.

The amendments of the Constitution created a sense of sectionalism

which grew throughout the country since it was first established. There

were many advocates for states rights especially in deciding which states

should be free or slave.
